Hayato Sumino角野隼斗

Hayato Sumino, known online as Cateen, is a Japanese pianist and composer known for his inventive approach to both classical and contemporary music. A 2021 semi-finalist at the International Chopin Piano Competition, he combines classical performance with improvisation, original compositions, and arrangements that draw from a wide range of musical influences. A Sony Classical recording artist and Steinway Artist, Sumino has performed with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, and NHK Symphony Orchestra. Through his work as Cateen, he has also built a global audience online, with more than 1.5 million YouTube subscribers.
